Pride 2017

On 29th July 2017, I experienced my first LGBTQ+ pride parade with my best-friend and my girlfriend. This particular friend is like a little sister to me and was there for me throughout my entire coming out process, as well as being the first person that I openly told I was gay so it meant a lot experiencing this with her as she was the first to accept who I was.

I have been with my girlfriend for nearly 5 months so experiencing Pride with her was incredible as I felt that I wasn’t alone and I could hold her hand and show her off throughout the day. On top of this, seeing my best friend and girlfriend get on was a huge milestone for myself, purely because she hasn’t been particularly keen on how girls have treated me in the past.

Below, I am going to insert some pictures from Pride that I’m hoping you will enjoy!

The famous pride police car that makes an appearance each year.

Other people spreading the love throughout Norwich city centre.

Being able to hold my girl’s hand around town was a great experience and something I would never have had the confidence to do a couple of years ago. My dad also made it a thing to follow us around town and take pictures of us whenever he saw us.

I cannot wait to experience more Pride parades in the future and spread awareness surrounding LGBT. This day was filled with so much love and happiness and experienced by thousands of people, both LGBT and straight.

It was wonderful seeing so many people come together to witness such a wonderful event and spread the love across such a beautiful city.

Love whoever you want, be whoever you want.

Stay positive,

Chloe xxx
